If you are a foreign traveler currently visiting or living in São Paulo and would like to better experience the city in the same I love the most - I mean, just like the locals do it rather than by using guidebooks - so attending the free events offered by the travel agency Bem São Paulo is a must for you!
Created by a group of locals interested in showing around the biggest city in Latin America from a different point of view, the Bem São Paulo guides you in groups with up to 13 participants through markets, parks, museums, neighborhoods, bars, restaurants while presents curious facts about the city and its great culture. For example, you can be taken to catch a sunset at the Praça do Pôr do Sol or learn about the origin of the street art along the subways. Tours are on foot or by bike.
To take part in the tours you are required to be a foreign traveler or have lived in São Paulo for no more than six months. You can sign up for free upon one day before the tour. The tour takes about 5 hours, and is guided in English. Transportation and some snacks are included, but if you are willing to pay something by the end of the tour, it will be very welcome.
