Balada em tempos de crise: Keep on dancing til the world ends!

Brazil's political and economics crisis deepen day after day. Maybe it will crash for good, and maybe it won't.... But what brasilienses - people from Brasília, Brazil's capital - know is that we certainly want to go out dancing!

Whaaat? The country is crashing, and all you think of is partying? Yep, you read it right. If you have been long enough in Brazil, you may have already noticed that Brazilians have a particular - sometimes annoying - way of tackling their problems. I mean, no matter how bad the situation, we tend to believe it will be fine in the end. Is the bus late? No problem - as usual! We know it will come at some time. Did it break? No problem - you would be surprised if it hadn't! Why should one break on stress if s/he knows another one is coming as well! All it sucks? Of course it does! Or do you think we are idiots? If yes, perhaps you got lost over time and missed when millions of Brazilians went out on streets to protest against corruption since 2013. We go on demonstration, but we think it's worthy living too. We try to take it easy and to enjoy life. That is why we allow ourselves to celebrate a bit.

The problem is that if you live in Brasília, you know that it has become increasingly expensive to have a good time... in times of crisis! Despite this sad scenario, Igor Albuquerque, Babi Bressan and Kaká Guimarães, three young entrepreneurs and DJS from the capital do believe that going out on the weekends and participating in the city's nightlife can been both a memorable and affordable experience. So, they conceived the Balada em Tempos de Crise, a party which can be translated as Party in Times of Crisis

Despite the name, it does not imply at all that we do not give a fuck for the overall crisis and scandals we are facing at the moment, but rather that we are trying to avoid all the crazies by joining some fun at fantastic parties carried out in public areas around the town. In unexpected locations, by the way. This because the event happens at night in a secret location, which is released only a few hours before the start time. The previous editions so far took place in pedestrian underground tunnels and the Pantheon of Fatherland and Freedom, a cenotaph dedicated to the honor of national heroes. Who has been there got amazed by the decor lighting, a series of nightly contemporary photo projections on the walls, good music, low-cost but artistic mounted scenarios, and of course the beauty of the visitors.

The next edition is expected to September. To make sure wou will not miss it, follow their fan page on Facebook (in Portuguese) https://www.facebook.com/baladaemtemposdecrise and c'mon party with us!
