It's winter in Brasília, folks!
And it's delicious! Let me tell you why.
The average daytime temperature in Brasilia during this time of the year is around 28 degrees Celsius (55 degrees Fahrenheit) and the average minimum temperatures generally tend to hover around 13 degrees Celsius (55 degrees Fahrenheit). Plus, the chances of rain are very low! This all means you should just avoid the sports outside the blistering heat that can make things uncomfortable in the daytime as it is particularly dry, but weather is just wonderful to happily explore the city in the evening without suffering in the excessive heat.
Hanging out in bars like Libanus (206 Sul), where the beer is amazingly ice-cold, is obviously an option. But if you would rather spend your time enjoying outdoor activities, I strongly recommend you the Open-Air Cinema taking place until 16th of August in Brasília's most important contemporary museum, the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB).
It is possible to watch current blockbusters or iconic films from Brazil and all over the world recalling the history of film, starting from Wednesdays to Mondays at 6pm and 8pm at the Centro Cultural. On the weekends a film is shown on a huge LED cinema screen built-on outside and another one in the theater. The choice of the Open-air Cinema is topped off with food trucks and music from DJs spinning in a reserved area.
Moreover, the Centro Cultural houses exhibitions in two galleries, a café and a bookstore. The monthly cultural program is posted online at http://culturabancodobrasil.com.br/portal/distrito-federal/. You can also follow it on twitter.com/CCBB_DF and https://www.facebook.com/ccbb.brasilia. From behind the Centro Cultural you can see the triple arched Ponte JK that crosses the Lago Paranoá, so you can simply sit down in the garden and enjoy the view.
To get to the Centro Cultural is quite difficult by regular bus in case you do not have a car, but there is a free bus every 90 minutes (from 11am to 11pm) that runs along the Eixo Monumental, the Cathedral, National Theater, the University (UnB) and so on (look for the painted bus that says CCBB).
