Pictures Blend the Past and the Present of Brasília

Like so many photographers from around the world have spectacularly superimposed images of a number of locations' past and present, an advertising agency from Brasil's capital decided to combine visuals from two eras within one frame.

After selecting historical photographs taken back during the construction period of Brasília, between 1958 and 1974, the group hunted down the landscapes and buildings in the city as they appear in modern times. They matched the distance and angle with the original image and overlaid it on the newer one, bringing the old to the surface with the new.

The project was created as a marketing campaign for the Brasília's status as World Heritage Site since 1987.
